The first all-day workshop on HOTINT took place on 25th of February 2014 in Linz. It addressed beginners as well as proficient users. Since it was the first official workshop, please note that only local users have been invited.
Before the workshop started, the latest version of the mechatronics simulation software HOTINT could be installed on the participants Laptops.
In the first part, an overview presentation of HOTINT was given. The attendees got an insight in the possibilities of the software, an introduction about the available objects in HOTINT and its script language and learned the most important aspects of the mathematical background of the implemented formulations.
In the second part, the program was explained interactively, by setting up different multibody systems. The participants explored the graphical user interface and set up a simple model. Subsequently HOTINT developers presented advanced features illustrated by models including flexible multibody simulation, rotor dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, plates and elements for large deformations.
